![]() Dr. Scott L. Schneberger, Principia’s new Dean of Academics, is an Illinois native and Principia College graduate (1970). He comes to us from the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University, where he was an associate professor and co-executive director of the Center for Applied Research on Emerging Technology. Scott has given numerous conferences and taught business information systems courses in three countries to both undergraduate and graduate students, MBAs, and executive MBAs at six universities. He has published 11 academic research journal articles, 16 conference publications, and 19 business teaching cases. He is also the author of two books. While still a student at Principia College, Scott co-founded a computer timesharing company. After graduation, he served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring at the rank of commander. He is a Vietnam veteran, having served on ships, submarines, and aircraft. Scott was head of operations at an intelligence center, an information systems project and program manager, and a fleet intelligence systems architect. He also served as an intelligence collector, analyst, and author/presenter, including writing and personally presenting the daily naval intelligence briefing to the Secretary of the Navy and senior Pentagon admirals. His last position was Head of Plans and Policy, Information Systems, for the Director of Naval Intelligence in the Pentagon. As Dean of Academics, Dr. Schneberger is responsible for curricular academics, academic faculty and academic staff, the registrar's office, the library, the academic and career advising center, the writing center, the First Year Experience program, and academic media services. ![]() Dr. Joe Ritter joined the Principia College faculty in 1995 as an assistant professor of chemistry. He was promoted to associate professor in 2000 and professor in 2005. He has been served as Chair of the Chemistry Department, a faculty advisor to the Principia College Solar Car Project, and Director of the Engineering Science Program. Joe has also served on numerous College committees and as a faculty mentor for the past nine years. He has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois and both a master's degree in computer science and a doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware.
