For a decade, Xinran Xue hosted a radio talk show called “Words on the Night Breeze,” in which she invited Chinese women to call in and share their life stories. In 1997 she emigrated from China to England, where she was able to edit and publish stories from the thousands of women she interviewed. Her first book, The Good Women of China, was released in 2002. It has become an international bestseller and is currently published in 30 languages. A permanent resident of London, Xinran has written two more books and writes a regular column for The Guardian. Principia College is the lead-off destination for her first U.S. book tour.
