Assist the After-School Program Director. Supervises students after school on the playground and in the After-School Care room. Monitors the afternoon playground. Works with Director and student helpers supervising the After-School playground or setting up and supervising indoor activities. Facilitates safety and helping students problem solve through inharmonious situations; disciplining when necessary. Works with the Director to establish consistent expectations and policies regarding the playground and other activities. Monitors the check-in desk when instructed to do so by the Director. Works closely with the houseparents, dean of students, academic dean, teachers, and academic counselors regarding character education, program vision, and goals. Part-time, hourly position during academic school year. Schedule will fluctuate from week to week. |
Assists the Auditorium Manager in meeting the technical, audio-visual, recording and sound system requirements of the St Louis Campus. Must be very capable of setting up, mixing and recording with multiple cameras and microphones performing competently at live events. Assists with technical support and focusing on-location recording, editing, disk mastering, DVD authoring, duplicating and Order Fulfillment. Sets up and operates A/V equipment around the campus, as requested, on evenings and weekends. Operates lights, microphones and speakers systems, video cameras and mixers, computers, DVD and media players, LCD projectors and screens. Technically supports meetings with multiple microphones, PowerPoint, DVD and Internet Media files. Sets up microphones, audio mixers, digital audio interfaces and computers connected to the internet in various locations for Principia Internet Radio, broadcasting live events from the St Louis campus. Duplicates and Distributes DVDs of the following events: Upper School Family Weekend Concert (October); US Dance Show November); all campus Christmas Programs K-12 (December); Senior Speeches (January); Spring Music Concerts grades 1-12 (April – May); Graduation Week Activities including the Cum Laude Chapel, Awards Assembly and Commencement Ceremony (last week of May - first week of June) including recording, editing, duplicating, labeling, packaging, processing email order forms and entering data for accounting and shipping. Assists, as time allows, with preparations for the Upper School Family Weekend Concert (September), US Dance Show (October), Musical Production (February – March), and Spring Music Concerts grades 1-12 (April – May). Attends planning meetings, as required, for distinguished Speakers Series, Monitor Night Live and high profile events. Performs as Assistant Technical Director for Ridgway Auditorium as needed. Provides excellent customer service in support of the School's technology program. Ensure that all students, faculty, coaches, house-parents, and
administrators have the support they need to be productive with their computers. Essential Duties:
Runs the department�s help desk to provide excellent service and communication in support of the one-to-one environment, including documenting, tracking, and monitoring to ensure timely problem resolution. Configures, images, installs, and distributes new computer equipment and loaner computers, as directed. Provides assistance, repair, and configuration support of tablet, laptop, and desktop computers. Resolves computer hardware problems, either by repairing on-site, calling for on-site help, or shipping off-site. Re-images computers as needed and according to established procedures. Helps with usability questions within the context of defined priorities. Installs and tests software updates, as directed. Supports preventative maintenance on computer systems. Maintains up-to-date documentation in assigned areas of responsibility. Participates in end-user events as appropriate, i.e. client training. Works with CIS Technical Support Group (TSG) to resolve network issues. Works closely with Academic Technology Coordinators in support of the school's technology vision and environment.

Writing Program Director |
Full-time, 43-week position beginning August 2009 |
Responsible for the development and oversight of an across-the-curriculum writing program; manages department budget and personnel; manages the two-week pre-fall freshman writing seminar and an academic curriculum of writing classes, tutorials, and faculty workshops; teaches two to three related courses per academic year; designs and/or teaches faculty development seminars. Qualifications: Active Christian Science church membership; Christian Science class instruction preferred; strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively; terminal degree in relevant field preferred (rhetoric, composition, English, education, or communication); strong background in curriculum design and implementation, portfolio and program assessment, current teaching/learning/writing theories and methods; proven teaching experience, preferably at the college level; advanced skills in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access or relational database system; strong ability to learn new technologies and software quickly; willingness to work long and irregular hours as needed.
