Choir Director
- Full-time, school-year position
Summary: Teaches a wide range of ages and levels in a choral music program, instilling an appreciation of music and the students’ unique musical talents. Nine-month teaching position.

Director, Principia Lifelong Learning
- Full-Time, 12-month position starting as soon as possible
Department/Office: Alumni & Field Relations / Advancement, St. Louis and Elsah campuses

Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Senior Director, Alumni & Field Relations; manages PLL student workers, Summer Session, lecturers and travel event staff

Summary:
The Director of Principia Lifelong Learning (PLL) is primarily responsible for orchestrating and executing two robust programs that directly support the Alumni and Field Relations goals for Principia. Through PLL travel programs (both virtual and in person) and Summer Session (a two-week, in person adult education program based on the College campus), PLL is a critical component in engaging alumni and friends. The PLL travel program requires superb customer service skills as well as sophisticated budgeting and creative marketing. Summer Session is a treasured tradition at Principia that must remain strategic and relevant to new generations.

This dual campus position resides in the Alumni & Field Relations team. The purpose of the PLL program is to engage alumni participation and advance Principia’s relationships primarily with alumni and friends. Full-time, 12-month position.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Active (or pending) membership in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and/or in a Journal-listed branch church or society of The First Church of Christ, Scientist
• Christian Science class instruction preferred but not required

Educational Technology Coordinator

Department/Location: Head of School, St. Louis campus

Organizational Relationship: Reports to Director of School Educational Technology

Summary: Work with teachers and students to strengthen their technical skills necessary for the 21st century; be an integral part of our Media Center and IDEA Center; keep Principia School abreast of emerging technologies. Full-time, 12-month position.

Executive Assistant / Events Manager
- Full-Time, 12-month position beginning May 2021
Department/Location: Assistant Head of School and Upper School Principal's Office/St. Louis Campus

Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Assistant Head of School and supports Upper School Principal; works collaboratively with the Executive Assistant/ Project Manager for the Head of School (HOS)

Summary:
The Executive Assistant/Events manager is responsible for the overall operation and management of the office of the Assistant Head of School and Upper School Principal, performing a variety of professional and administrative duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, managing daily operation of the Assist. HOS schedule and administrative offices, project management, confidential secretarial duties, receptionist duties, special event planning and execution, preserves good relations between the Principia community and the public.
Event management and planner for US events; annual speakers, projects, event spaces, planned community events, upper school calendar, and other assigned projects; Maintains and develops good relations between the Principia community and the public; Supports the Upper School faculty and students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Department/Location: Academic and College Counseling Office, Upper School, St. Louis

Organizational Relationships: Reports to Academic and College Counseling Coordinator. Works closely with students, parents, administrators, LEC Personnel, GLC’s, faculty, Admissions, and Home Department.

Summary: All work is grounded in Mary Kimball Morgan’s philosophy that each child has unlimited potential and possesses the ability to be successful in academics and all elements of the “whole man” educational philosophy. School counselors support the educational and personal development of students, as well as their college and career preparedness, while advancing the mission and core values of The Principia. Leads the planning, development and implementation of student progress/advancement/improvement. Monitors student academic performance, discussing needed progress with students, parents, and teachers. Nurtures the social and emotional needs of students. Develops and executes Counseling Curriculum that includes Academic, Social & Emotional, and College & Career elements. Guides students through the college search and application process. Supports faculty with student performance. Maintains confidentiality in all work performed. Full-time, School-year position, 41 weeks.

Title: Visual Art Teacher

Department/Location: Upper School Faculty, Visual Arts Department, St. Louis Campus

Summary: Stretches students academically and creatively through a range of visual art classes including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, and Advanced Art; supports students to develop and refine their analytical, critical, and creative thinking and expression. Teaches four courses per semester to students in grades 9-12. Full-time, school year position (39 weeks).

Substitute Teachers--Pre-K through Upper School
- On-call, part-time opportunities available immediately
Summary: Supervise students and presents lesson plans prepared by lead teacher; work individually and in small groups with students; act as classroom teacher if lead teacher is away; in Preschool and Lower School, substitutes normally take the role of teaching assistant.

Admissions Counselor
- Full-time, 12-month position beginning as soon as possible.
Summary: This position is responsible for effectively managing a geographic territory; to identify, recruit, and admit academically qualified students in accordance with the mission of The Principia; keeps frequent contact with students, parents and utilizes network of alumni, admissions “connectors”, and other Christian Science organizations for recruiting purposes.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Christian Science Class Instruction preferred, but not required
•B.A. or B.S. degree, and 2-3 years relevant work experience preferred

•Able to do daily metaphysical work to support recruiting efforts
•At certain times of the year work hours must be shifted to come in late and stay late in order to reach prospects by phone or other means at night when students are most available.
•Self-starter, functions independently, and coordinates effectively with others
•Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively and intuitively interview prospective students and family members

Assistant Dean of Academics: Student Services
- Full-time, 12-month position beginning January, 2021
Summary: The Assistant Dean of Academic Student Services assists the Dean of Academics in administration of the academic student services. The Assistant Dean of Academic Student Services provides leadership and vision, planning, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of student success and related student support services, including but not limited to academic advising, tutoring, testing, and internships and careers services. This position serves an integral role in campus retention efforts. The Assistant Dean is assigned primary oversight of student support services, Advising; Internships and Career Development Office; Center for Teaching and Learning; Community Service; and liaising with Academic Technology.; and the Multi-disciplinary programs. The Assistant Dean is directly responsible for guiding programming to ensure student success. The position is responsible for facilitating, implementing, and managing academic strategic initiatives and programs (e.g. Annenberg Scholars program, Post-Graduate Teaching Internship program, etc.). The Assistant Dean serves on several committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Campus Security Officer
- Full-time, 12-month position beginning as soon as possible.
Summary of responsibilities: This position serves the Principia community, guests and the visiting public through upholding Principia’s standard of safety and security, while prayerfully and metaphysically supporting campus safety and security. The Security Officer is responsible for providing a security presence and monitoring traffic, events, and the activities of people on campus, while attending and maintaining professional training and standards in accordance with departmental requirements. It is the duty of this position to respond to and assist the Principia community, visiting public and/or the police with security matters and/or emergencies. The ideal candidate should express good judgment, is detail oriented, respects and maintains confidentiality, and displays a strong sense of principle and integrity, along with a high comfort level working with a diverse campus population and having frequent public contact.

Collections and Instruction Librarian
- Full-time, 10-month position beginning as soon as possible
Summary: This individual will work collaboratively as a team member to maintain excellence in library collections, services, and programs. This position will provide guidance regarding development, assessment, management, and promotion of user-centered, holistic collections to meet the current and emerging information needs of the Principia College community. They will participate in the library's delivery of research and course-related instructional services as needed. They will serve as liaison to selected academic disciplines and develop subject-focused research LibGuides. The ideal candidate will express grace, a sense of humor, a love of teaching, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualifications:
●Active (or pending) membership in the First Church of Christ, Scientist and/or in a Journal-listed branch church or society of the First Church of Christ, Scientist
●Christian Science class instruction preferred, but not required
●MLS from an ALA accredited program
●Commitment to continuous improvement in instructional methodology

●Knowledge of the principles of cataloging, subject analysis, and classification (Library of Congress preferred)
●Familiarity with subscription databases (e.g. EBSCOHost, JSTOR, ProQuest, etc.)
●Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

College Facilities Director
- Full-time, 12-month position beginning as soon as possible.
Summary: As head of the Principia College’s Facilities Department the director provides the college with a reliable and functional physical learning environment that efficiently uses resources, provides well designed and dependable educational facilities and supports the various objectives associated with the mission of the college. The Facilities Department comprises a work force of approximately 66 employees, delivers services representing an annual business expenditure of approximately $10 million for a department that manages 119 buildings and dwellings on a 135 acre core campus area.

Minimum Qualifications:
•Active (or pending) membership in The First Church of Christ, Scientist and/or in a Journal-listed branch church or society of The First Church of Christ, Scientist
•Christian Science class instruction preferred, but not required
•Must be a graduate from an accredited college or university with at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, or business management.
•Must have excellent administrative and supervisory skills and experience.
•Must be experienced and skilled in written and oral communication.
•Should have a thorough knowledge of facilities planning, design and construction; facilities maintenance management; utilities operation management; personnel management and training; and financial management; have at least two years of significant experience in charge of a facilities management organization, or a major component of one.

Special Requirements:
•Registration as a professional engineer or architect is desirable.

College Faculty: Art (3-D Design & Sculpture)
- Full-time, 9-month position beginning July 1, 2021. Applications being accepted until February 15, 2021.
Summary: Teaches 18-21 semester hours per academic year, typically this is 6-7 three-semester hour courses, including courses that support the 3-dimensional studio curriculum and the emphasis in sculpture in the Studio Art major, and general education courses in the major such as “Ideas and Visual Form” and “Drawing I.” Additional duties include advising students, on-going professional development, serving on campus-wide committees, contributing in scholarly ways, assessment of academic programs, supporting Principia activities, and promoting Christian Science-based character education in accord with Principia’s mission as outlined in Education at The Principia.

Minimum Qualifications:
•M.F.A. in Sculpture or related media
•An innovative artist-educator with a robust studio practice
•The ideal candidate must have proficiency in teaching a range of 3-D media including but not limited to modeling, carving, casting, assembling, installation art, sustainable design, and environmental art
•Ability to manage a well-equipped sculpture studio and woodshop: possess a practical knowledge of the use of a wide range of tools and machinery, and practical understanding of current health and safety practices with an emphasis on sustainable methods
•College-level teaching experience preferred
•Active (or pending) membership in The First Church of Christ Scientist, and/or local Journal-listed branch church or society of The First Church of Christ, Scientist
•Christian Science class instruction preferred but not required
•Willingness to be an academic generalist who is able to teach multiple areas within the discipline

Position Summary: The Director is responsible for the student Admissions and Recruiting functions for Principia College, including responsibility for developing and implementing College marketing programs.
