The Principia School Boarding Program

The Principia dorms are a place where excellence is encouraged, friendship is fostered, and Christian Science is lived. Students come from all over the world and discover an embracing atmosphere that extends well beyond the dorm or classrooms. Here is how one current parent describes her experience:

“To be honest, I was one of those people who always thought, ‘What kind of parent would send their child away to boarding school?’ We’re a close family, and we were all satisfied with the public high school.  Our son was taking AP classes and involved in sports, and he had a circle of wonderful friends.  But he wanted to visit Principia. We agreed, thinking it wouldn’t be an issue since he was so content at home.  When he returned and told us that he really wanted to go to the Upper School, I’m embarrassed to admit I cried for three days!

From the moment he arrived, though, he’s been thrilled with every aspect of his experience here, from classes to sports to dorm and social life.  He’s just thriving!  And when you see your child so happy, you can’t help but be happy, too. We keep in close touch through text messages and phone calls, and he told me recently that he feels like a completely different person than he was a year ago, because he’s grown so much as a Christian Scientist. Now the only tears I have are tears of gratitude.”
