Academic Program
Middle Schoolers get a running start for the high school (Upper School) academic years. Math — Several levels of math instruction include general math, pre-algebra and algebra, and geometry classes. Language Arts — Middle Schoolers immerse themselves in the world of reading and writing. Science — Middle Schoolers study life, earth, and physical sciences with hands-on work in labs and field work on campus. They also have computer access to Principia Upper School and College libraries. Social studies — Through American and world history and current events, they work at making connections between historical points and present-day happenings. Foreign language — Most complete a two-year program in French or Spanish that equals a first-year high school program. Exploratory courses allow Middle Schoolers to study something special, like communication skills, cooking, keyboarding, multi-cultural studies, decision-making, drama, art, band, or choir. Conference period — Every day after school, teachers are available to students who want additional help and instruction. For more information about |
