Events
The Middle School social life is an active one. Social activities occur about twice per month and sometimes as often as three times per night. The activities vary greatly, with dances often being a top choice. Student Council helps plan and carry out the social activities. Some of the activities are optional, but some social activities are required. Required social activities are part of the Middle School educational program, which is designed to educate the "Whole Man." All Social activities are designed to encourage growth in social graces, practice in establishing and maintaining good relationships with peers and adults, and, most of all, to enable everyone to have fun! Annual Unity Trip
For the first 4 days of a new school year, The Principia Middle School students and teachers travel to Lebanon, MO to Cedars Camp for the annual Unity Trip.
Required Social Activities
Required social activities include Dance Instructions, a Spring Dance, an Etiquette Dinner, and a variety of concerts. Though social activities are not required at most Middle Schools, certain social experiences designed to teach social graces are considered an important part of the educational program at Principia. This is not to say that we don't have fun at them. Most Middle School students will tell you that even the required social activities are good times. Optional Social Activities
Optional social activities often include dances, games nights, picnics, a talent show, movies, drama productions, spirit-dress days, and an annual trip to the local Six Flags. Student Council plans and decorates for most optional social activities. The students elect Student Council Commissioners twice during the year and any student may run for office. Students also help decide which movies to watch and what songs to play during the optional dances. Middle School students really enjoy their social activities, and almost all students attend them. |
