Steve Shaper (US’54) has started and bought approximately 30 companies, including the largest truss manufacturer in the United States (Trussway), the largest silk flower manufacturer (Seville Industries), and the largest check guarantee company (TeleCheck). He currently serves as a board member of the largest US Internet lender (Elevate Credit) and is a consultant with Middlemarch Capital Corporation. Steve has given back to Principia in many ways through his local Principia Club, on the Patron's Committee, Alumni Board, Committee of Seventy, and Board Advisory Council. Beyond his commitments to Principia, Steve has also served on the boards of Adventure Unlimited, Albert Baker Fund, the Branch School, his Christian Science Association, and many positions within his branch church, particularly in the Sunday School.
Steve has a BA in mechanical engineering from Rice University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He lives in Houston, Texas, with his wife Sue. They have four grown children.
